I took another biggest challenge as an artist by trying plein air paintings first time in my life, Maybe I should call them "studies" as they're small 6"x8" oil on masonite boards and I spent 1-2hour on each, "plein air" is a term derived from the French phrase "en plein air", which literally means 'in the open air'. I ventured out of my studio, spent 4 days with the greatest plein air artist, Tom Hughes into nature in Alameda, CA to investigate and capture the effects of sunlight and different times of days on trees, it was quite revolutionary experience.
Thank you to Tom Hughes for sharing this wonderful priceless experience with me and Yen-Ching Chang for borrowing me your french easel. I still have a long long way to go, happy paintings~
